Looking to build your own DIY router sled kit using the Crafted Elements sled design? We have you covered! If you have already have your own linear rails, cross bars and bearings and screws you can buy just our custom milled acrylic parts to build your own router sled.

Acrylic Parts Only

The acrylic router base plate and 2 cross bar plates only. No additional hardware. You need to provide the bearings, cross bar mounts, rail stops, screws, linear rails and cross bar shaft to complete your router sled assembly.

The router base and brackets are sold as is, final sale with no returns. We normally sell our router sleds as kits to ensure full compatibility with the rails, shafts, bearings, mounts and rails that we provide. We are all for the DIY and maker movement, but if you choose to source these components on your own, we can't provide tech support, troubleshooting or compatibility information on them or how they work with our acrylic router base and brackets. The bearing mount bolt pattern on the router base is 40mm x 40mm. The bearing mount bolt pattern on the cross bar brackets (two side brackets) is 35mm x 35mm.

The slab levelling area of your sled will be determined by the length of rails and cross bars you use. In general when using a 2.5" diameter spoil board / slab flattening bit (like the SpeTool CA-IP-D1/2) you can expect a maximum slab length = rail length - 8.5", and maximum slab width = cross member length - 9.75". The maximum slab thickness is determined by the number of risers (if any) used to mount the side rails, the length of your router bit, and whether or not you are using a 1/2" collect extension. See the assembly and instructions video for a full explanation.

We precision cut and machine 1/2" thick acrylic components for the cross rail brackets and router mount to create a durable, cost effective solution that is going to save you time, money and boost shop efficiency.

Universal Hole Pattern 1 (U1)

Use any compatible full sized router with a range of commonly available spoil board (slab flattening) bits. The router base plate features pre-drilled holes for most commonly used routers, making assembly that much quicker.

Festool 1010/1400/2200 Hole Pattern (FEST)

The router base is pre-drilled with mounting holes for Festool 1010, 1400 and 2200 model routers. To accommodate the larger Festool routers the base plate is widened by 3/4", thereby reducing the slab flattening width area by 3/4" when compared to our standard universal router plate.

Universal Trim Router 1 (UTR1)

Use any compatible small trim router with a range of commonly available spoil board (slab flattening) bits. We do not recommend using spoilboard bits greater than 1.5" in diameter with trim routers. The router base plate features pre-drilled holes for most commonly used trim routers, making assembly that much quicker. The trim router base also includes two 3 7/8" long black phenolic handles with mounting screws to provide a more ergonomic user experience. Also note that the trim router base plate does NOT have anyway to accommodate exterior dust collection like the full sized base plates do.

Blank (Drill It Yourself) No Router Holes (BL)

This router base is identical to the universal router base plate except there are no pre-drilled holes for mounting your router. Use this base if you have a router incompatible (or just not listed) with our other router bases. Drilling your own holes is easy, simply apply some masking tape to the plate, center the router, mark the hole locations, put the router aside, then drill. Start with a 1/8" bit to drill a pilot hole then progressively move up in bit sizes until you get to the required hole diameter to accommodate your mounting screws. This will help to avoid cracking the acrylic. You can also use a countersink bit to ensure your screws sit level with the plate. Watch this short-video that demonstrates how to mount your router to the blank router base.

An optional dust collection shroud and 2.5" boot is available to help catch some of the dust created by slab milling.
