The second generation (version 2.0) of the dust collection kit for Crafted Elements full sized router sled bases (U1, FEST and BL). It is not compatible with the trim router sled base (UTR1).
A great improvement over the prior generation of our dust collection accessory which utilized a thick PVC shroud that was mounted around the perimeter of the router base. This new design features a custom made brush track that holds a conventional nylon bristle brush.
Tension keeps the bristle brush in place on the track, however depending on how often it makes contact with your workpieces and how much pressure it experiences with contact, you may want to use superglue or a slower setting hot glue to permanently mount the brush inside of the track instead.
Kit includes 2.5" angled dust collection fitting, PLA plastic brush mounting track, nylon dust brush and (10) M4x12mm coarse screws.
Note: This kit is ONLY compatible with full size router sled bases V2.0 and higher. Please ensure to choose the correct model of your router base from the drop down menu before adding this to your cart. The design of the Festool compatible plate is different than the standard U1/BL version. Be sure to attach the brush mounting track and the vacuum fitting to the router base using a handheld screwdriver, not a power drill, to ensure you avoid stripping the holes in the acrylic base.

Only issue was i had to glue it in spots to keep it in place. Nothing a little hotmelt couldn’t fix

Works well as advertised. I have it hooked up to a 4 inch Oneida system.

Did a wonderful job of keeping the shavings in an area where the shop-vac could collect them. No residue in my test run. The only problem I had was that the universal plate which I have did not have threaded holes to accommodate the mounting screws for the hose connector. Wound up using sheet metal screws for it.

The brushes stick down to far. I had to purchase a collet extender in order for my surfacing bit to clear the brushes.
Dennis F.2/5Verified
Very well thought out design. Easy to assemble. I did not end up using the brush because I did not have a collet extension to gain enough space below the router mounting plate.

would have been better if you could adapt to existing router

Have used on four slabs and it works great! Good dust/chip collection. Recommend!
Gregory S.5/5Verified
You have to have the router way too far away from the piece. I was flattening a 2 1/2 slab and I built my table with 1 1/2 inch risers as recommended and it was still too close for the dust collection to work.

Doesn't work as advertised
Kelly P.1/5Verified
The dust collection kit was a perfect fit and removes 98% of the dust normally seen when flattening a slab. Very happy with the ease of the attachment to the sled and the fit of the vacuum attachment tube.

Works great
Christine W.5/5Verified
Works ok, but the stitching is coming apart after only a few uses

Great fit. works well with my slab leveling system

perfect fit

Router sled is amazing and is plenty big for our basement shop. We used it for the first time after 9 months of having it. One down side is if you leave it for to long without using it the bearings will get stiff. Note keep bars clean at all times or the bearings will get stiff.

Worked better than expected. Very pleased.

Unit was too tall overall to use. Ended up just putting painter’s blue tape around the sled to keep much of the dust going into vacuum hose.

I purchased the router sled assembly with extensions along with the dust collector option. During assembly, the track that supports the brush skirt cracked so I informed the company. They immediately replaced the broken part without question.
Crafted Elements has convinced me this company stands behind its product. The router track assembly with bearing mounts is a top quality heavy duty product. I would not hesitate to purchase product from this company in the future.

Setup was a breeze.Great product.

The bristles are too rigid and too long.
Ramroop P.1/5Verified
The brushes are a little stiff for my liking and the bracket kind of broke and I had to glue it because it is a 3D printed bracket.

Brushes seem too long and it just seems like an awkward setup with the router sled that I bought from you guys. I installed it correctly but it just pushes too hard and seems like it's going to get caught up in my router bit.
Brandon M.1/5Verified
Doesn’t collect the large chips. The finer shavings were collected.
Angus B.3/5Verified
Didn't work with ky router
Floyd Z.1/5Verified
Very well made bits. I'd love a "cheat card" that says which set of holes to use for which brand of router. Either way, 6 out of 5 stars.

with the festive season around us I have not set up my new sled yet. However I did open the shipping packing and reviewed all the parts and pieces. To say the least I am very impressed with the quality of all the components. I look forward to using the sled in the New Year.

Worked well.! Bought the dust collection skirt with the tariff-passing kit. After getting the bars from other sources, the system set up when without a glitch. Setup to level a 2”’ slab. After setup was complete, i neededto add an additional spacer (3rd piece of 3/4” plywood) to reduce skirt drag. Leveling the top went well (mostly wood with minimal epoxy shavings). The second picture shows what little material was missed by the dust collector after about 5 1/16” passes ) 3rd picture shows the amount of material collected in a recently emptied bag. Leveling the bottom was another story. I emptied the dust collector bag prior to starting. As the bottom is all epoxy, you primarily get epoxy shreds from the router. After two 1/16” passes, I noticed a build up of material in the skirt and on the table. The problem was that the system worked too well since the collected epoxy shreds clogged the 4” hose. After cleaning the hose everything worked great. Shop cleanup after leveling both sides of thevslab was a breeze.

I bought the 40" x 72" as most of the slabs I currently have will fall in this router side. I have wider/longer slabs coming in December so will be going to the 60" cross bars and adding another 72" for the linear rails.
Easy to assemble, glides work very well (even with the dust caps on) and I highly recommend Dust Collection Kit V2.0 as that prevents most of the shavings and dust flying out and making a mess of the shop. I also recommend 4" drop from 6" pipe to your dust collector. You need good suction to pull off the waste.
Support is also very responsive to any questions and help.
Great company to engage with and glad I went with this full side router sled vs building my own
