A wonderfully simple but mighty jig that makes pocketing out finger grip / hand grips into the bottom of a cutting board a breeze. This jig makes 4x2" finger/hand grips with a 0.5" internal radius on the inside corners.
Simply apply some two way tape / woodworking template tape (or hot glue) to the jig to put it in place, lining up the center point marker on the jig with the center of your board.
Grab your handheld router with any suitable pocketing bit with a bottom mounted bearing. We recommend a rounded / bowl bit for the nicest interior corner finish. Alternatively if you dont have a bit with a bearing, you can use any standard pocketing bit along with a router bushing (the router bushing acts as the bearing, riding along the interior perimeter of the jig).
A must have jig if you make cutting boards or butcher blocks! Make sure you check out our full line of helpful jigs here.
