We love our new router sled! It has made the difficult task of sanding and leveling my tables a much easier process and has brought my tables up a notch in quality!
I thought the crossbars should have been 48" . I believe they were out of stock . Now the 36" is not wide enough Is there any discount to order the 48" .
Bought your entire system to marry with my router so that I could build a table for my wife. I flattened a couple slabs of black walnut and then laid epoxy between the live edges and she is thrilled with the finished product.
I've made my own in the past. The process was very time consuming to get everything lined up perfectly. This one was perfect and saved time so I could focus on the bigger projects.
Very easy to assemble, adjust, and use the system. My only issue has to do with the fact that the linear rails are in (2) 4-foot sections and the system does not glide smoothly across the joints in the rails.
> When sliding the 'bridge' along the length of the system, the 'slides' 'hit' the rail joints at the same time, making it difficult to slide the 'bridge' past the middle of the system. The next time I set up the system, I plan to 'offset' the joints in the linear rails - so that only one end of the bridge will hit the linear rail joints as a time. If this does not make it smooth enough, I will consider purchasing 8 foot linear rails to make it easier to move the 'bridge' along the work piece.
> I would have preferred an option to purchase 8 foot long rails.
Worked perfectly on a set-up with a 36" wide worktable.
(no perceivable deflection on the 36" with) I imagine there may some deflection at a full 48" width, but am willing to accept this - if I need to use the full width (most of my work will be on slabs that are only 24" wide)
It's abundantly clear that the heart of this company is marketing, not precise engineering or manufacturing. Where is the printed assembly instruction manual that comes with the tool? Where is the sequential assembly video? All we get is a sorry little video about using it. Where is the link on the website for cutomer service? All we get is a superficial Q&A. It is by no means easy to put the slab router together. The towers that hold the cross rods....they don't fit the linear bearings. Is that intentional? Why? One bolt is enough?
I’ve been waiting for my package for a week and a half then all sudden stuck at customs for a Wood tool???
I got very little feedback or even anybody reaching out to me. I’m the one who had to find out what was going on.
Very disappointing nobody has reached out at all
Definitely not a beginners product. I’ve tried three separate iterations and the rods would bow in the middle while flattening 25 inch by 48 inch slab. Not ideal for beginners
Very difficult for a first timer. I really like the idea of planing and flattening large pieces although I could not get this product to work for me. I tried a couple different variations, but I could not get the support rods to not bow ever so slightly.
I recently purchased the 40 x 48"router sled with blank router base and dust collection. the system was super simple to put together and work like a dream, much better than the router sled that I built and previously used. I was really impressed with the dust collection/shroud. it exceeded my expectations and allowed me to use this set-up inside the house with almost no clean-up. well worth the money. thanks, Marc
Absolutely a game changer for leveraging my table live edge business. I do require to purchase from you the 48” rails to increase the width? Is this possible? If so please bill me and send asap. I required 40 Slabs of white oak that your leveling system is the best, when it comes to process at a fast and very accurate timeline. Thank you for making this available to us wood butchers. If you sell the router bits need a second one. Oak is extremely hard. Should you sell the router bits bill and send please. I would send a video but above my pay grade. Send pictures of finished tables.
It was an absolute pleasure putting together my router sled with the acrylic router base plate and cross-bar plates I received from Crafted Elements. Everything fitted perfectly and runs very smoothly! The support from Crafted Elements with my purchase was also excellent. Thank you! 😊
Super fast shipping, from Canada to Georgia in less than 48 hours. Packed very well for shipping,no damage. Only issue I had was the holes to mount router were too small but it was no problem to drill out. This is a well made product at a good price. Highly recommended.
