Create beautiful and iconic American flags out of epoxy resin, Jesmonite, concrete or even chocolate using this 16x10x0.5" silicone mold. This mold is designed with separation lines 1/10" wide and 0.2" in depth between each bar of the flag representing the original 13 colonies. The 50 stars are 0.2" in depth.

Creating a finished flag with this mold with multiple colors is a multi-step process. First fill each of the 13 bars up to 0.2" in depth, then fill the background section behind the stars. The colors are separated from mixing by the raised lines in the mold. After the initial pour has cured, backfill the entire flag with whatever color you chose (or clear resin) to effectively tie all of the components together. If the bottoms of the stars are still clearly exposed you can choose the color of the stars as your backfill color and avoid having to backfill them after demolding. In the small flag mold the stars are a single flat depth, making it easier to avoid backfilling them after the demold.

Crafted Elements Silicone Molds

The last mold you will ever need. Created just for makers, resin artists and wood workers, these time saving flexible yet durable silicone molds significantly cut down on the setup and demolding time usually involved with other molds. Silicone molds are superior to wood and tuck tape, and HDPE molds because:

  • They can be used with epoxy resin, resin and wood, concrete, Jesmonite, plaster and more.
  • They never need assembled, or disassembled. Saving huge amounts of time.
  • The strength and flexibility of the molds allows you to insert and remove pieces of wood easily.
  • The corners and edges never need sealed.
  • When using wood, the wood stays in place, tight in the mold if you cut it 1/16" larger than the width of the mold. Alternatively use our HDPE block kit in conjunction with hand weights or clamps to keep your wood from up in your resin. The HDPE blocks dont stick to set resin and are easily and cleanly removed.
  • The mold is heat resistant to ~450F. Avoid direct contact with the flame of a torch. Briskly wave your torch or use a heat gun to pop bubbles.
  • The molds are reusable. However silicone molds do have a finite lifespan when used with epoxy resin, but getting 20-30+ castings out of the mold can be expected when they are properly cared for and a non-silicone based mold release spray is used. The Mann Ease Release 300 and the MG Chemicals 8329 (Amazon) is what we most recommend.
  • Like HDPE, epoxy resin does not stick to silicone. However, the heat generated by the exothermic reaction and the chemicals in epoxy resin are very harsh to all silicone molds. Additionally, if part of your epoxy has not fully set due to improper mixing, the epoxy can become bonded to the mold. Both of these factors can lead to mold tear out when removing your piece from the mold, leading to pits and tears on the surface of the mold. This is why we a non-silicone based mold release spray is required before each pour. To help prevent tear out and to increase the life of your mold. We use the 'MG Chemicals 8329 Non-Silicone Epoxy Mold Release', 'Mann Ease Release 200' or 'Mann Ease Release 300'. Cooking spray, vaseline, silicone based sprays or sprays designed for urethane or polyester products should NEVER be used. Using a proper, non-silicone based mold release can mean the difference between getting only a couple of uses from your mold to 20, 30 or more.

The silicone mold is rugged and durable. I've used it only twice but the results have been top notch so far. I was able to guess pretty close to the amount of resins needed for each color and have had compliments of the finished product. I recommend this item if you are wanting to do epoxy flags.

I’m having a hard time with the sharp edges on them when they cure! How can l keep this from happening?

I think the product is very nice, they come out looking great I added 2 eye hooks for hanging on the wall…The only problem I’m finding is the flag warps which is not a good look for wall art….i think the depth needs to be deeper for a thicker product…or any suggestions welcomed.

Love this mold. Releases so easily.

Love the mold

Will look great as an award

I love this flag mold, I have both sizes and it’s one of my best sellers!

Love the mold. Took a couple flags to catch on to little nuances involved.

Wow these molds werent cheap but they are definitely worth the money

Very nice mold!!!

The resin molds are to notch. They are very sturdy and separate from the hardened resin with no problem. I use mold release and they turn out perfect every time.

The mold was awesome and easy to work with. Thick and heavy enough not to tear. great design

Thanks!

Good quality mold.

Haven't had a chance to use the mold yet. But it's high quality. The price is a bit high for me but it's worth the money. Will update when I do a pour. Can't go wrong with crafted elements molds. Will buy another mold when I can. I highly recommend their products.
