Inspired by ancient civilizations, this is one of our first "art molds", featuring intricate details and designs often found in Mayan or Aztec calendars.

The finished casting out of this mold is 12.875" (13") in diameter and 3/4" thick. However, it can be made thinner by using less resin or concrete, up to a minimum of 3/8" thick.

Crafted Elements Silicone Molds

The last mold you will ever need. Created just for makers, resin artists and wood workers, these time saving flexible yet durable silicone molds significantly cut down on the setup and demolding time usually involved with other molds. Silicone molds are superior to wood and tuck tape, and HDPE molds because:

  • They can be used with epoxy resin, resin and wood, concrete, Jesmonite, plaster and more.
  • They never need assembled, or disassembled. Saving huge amounts of time.
  • The strength and flexibility of the molds allows you to insert and remove pieces of wood easily.
  • The corners and edges never need sealed.
  • When using wood, the wood stays in place, tight in the mold if you cut it 1/16" larger than the width of the mold. Alternatively use our HDPE block kit in conjunction with hand weights or clamps to keep your wood from up in your resin. The HDPE blocks dont stick to set resin and are easily and cleanly removed.
  • The mold is heat resistant to ~450F. Avoid direct contact with the flame of a torch. Briskly wave your torch or use a heat gun to pop bubbles.
  • The molds are reusable. However silicone molds do have a finite lifespan when used with epoxy resin, but getting 20-30+ castings out of the mold can be expected when they are properly cared for and a non-silicone based mold release spray is used. The Mann Ease Release 300 and the MG Chemicals 8329 (Amazon) is what we most recommend.
  • Like HDPE, epoxy resin does not stick to silicone. However, the heat generated by the exothermic reaction and the chemicals in epoxy resin are very harsh to all silicone molds. Additionally, if part of your epoxy has not fully set due to improper mixing, the epoxy can become bonded to the mold. Both of these factors can lead to mold tear out when removing your piece from the mold, leading to pits and tears on the surface of the mold. This is why we a non-silicone based mold release spray is required before each pour. To help prevent tear out and to increase the life of your mold. We use the 'MG Chemicals 8329 Non-Silicone Epoxy Mold Release', 'Mann Ease Release 200' or 'Mann Ease Release 300'. Cooking spray, vaseline, silicone based sprays or sprays designed for urethane or polyester products should NEVER be used. Using a proper, non-silicone based mold release can mean the difference between getting only a couple of uses from your mold to 20, 30 or more.

I’ve only completed one, and I’m impressed with the results. I sprinkled gold dust particles in the mold before adding the pour. It came out crisp and the details jumped out. I’m going to make a few lazy Susan’s for gifts this Christmas.

Granddaughter goes to SanDiego State, "the Aztecs" so to complement her this epoxy mold is very fitting, results are great after some experimenting, tried selling one but no takers don't really know what to price it at, any suggestions?

This thing looks awesome

Awesome Tool! Just wanted to add I used eye candy mica pigment, a little goes a long way so be careful not to over do it. Spread evenly, mine clumped a little bit, my fault still turned out great!

This is a great and high quality mold. I really appreciate the work that goes into making the products that you sell. I created plaster pieces of the aztec calendar.

I love this mold. I live on the border of Texas and Mexico and this calendar is regularly seen in restaurants around here. I decided to use an intense chameleon green to make it different than all of the ones I've seen around here. I really like how it came out. I did not fill the mold to the top. The finished piece is 1/2" thick, which is perfect. Lots of fun. I love the detail in the mold.

Excellent Mold, nicely detailed.

I made the Aztec calander in Gold and Mexican flag colors. Put it up in our shop and sold both within the hour. Also the sugar skull in multi-colors. By the time I closed up shop and got home, I received an order for to custom made sugar skulls. I will definitely be ordering molds. Love it.

great

A+++

I Have Made App 15 of These Calendars. The Detail Is Really Crisp! I Have 2 of These Calendar Molds, 1 Seems To Be Thicker Than The Other One, Both Molds Work Great! Spray Mold Release, Dust Powder, Pour Resin and Wait App 72 Hours To Demold, That's All You Have To Do To Have A Great Looking Aztec Calendar.

I’d love to mold smaller ones. A set of molds in different sizes would be great! From coin sized up to this 13”. How cool would that be!!!

It was great and will be making a couple more I love you guys products..
